cultural evening

Kia Ora tama riki ma. Ko Mya Wallace Tuku ingoa. Hello everyone my name is Mya Wallace. Last week we had our Cultural evening. That is when everyone shows off there skills. We had Kapahaka, Pasifica and choir but not only those we had the finalist for photography and final winners for poetry. I was very nervous at first but I loved preforming. Then on Friday I got a postcard for "stretching her capitalising and perseverance learning muscles. and for participating in all the shows but 2. 1 I could not do and the other I cant sing good".

My poem
Maui-tiki-tiki-a-Taranga
had a magic fish hook
with his foster brothers
paddled out to sea
in his waka. Hei!

Maui-tiki-tiki-a-Taranga
took his magic fish hook
swung it round his head
threw it in the sea
said his karakia. Hei!

Maui-tiki-tiki-a-Taranga
pulled his magic fish hook
tugged his magic fish hook
heaved his magic fish hook
Te ika nui, Hei!

P.E

This week on Monday we had athletics. We participated in running, long jump, high jump, long ball. This is my reflection of the athletics day. It has some questions and I answered them. PE/Athletics reflection

Choose 5 questions to answer with ADDED DETAIL and GOOD THINKING. Delete the questions you have not answered.

  1. What was your favourite event at athletics day? Explain High jump because I love to jump and I only knocked down my 3 turn of the competitive jump

  1. Who is an athletics role model for you? Explain. Annaliese because she had a big smile on her face and was kind to others. She was so kind she won the running race.

  1. What would you have liked to have spent more time practicing? Explain long ball because I didn’t get that far then last year

  1. Write a set of instructions for one of the events at Athletics Day. Assume that the reader has never seen it before.
High jump
  1. Try and do a scissors cut. Scissors cut is when 1 leg goes up and then the other leg goes up.
  2. Whatever leg goes up first that is the side you have to go on.
  3. Then run on the side your first leg when up.
  4. Then when your about to jump do the scissors cut jump .
  5. Try not to hit the pole when you jump.

  1. Take a picture of yourself demonstrating your skills.

Compare and contrast essay- Mya Wallace
Intro
Even though African lions and domestic cats are living a long way away from each other, they still have a lot in common and some clear differences.

Similarities
Both creatures are part of the cat family, also known as the Felidae family. The Felidae family have pretty large eyes and excellent vision. The vision is so good that they can even see in the dark.

Both of the animals smell from their mouth. They do it because they can smell something strong and maybe tasty. Then they get a better whiff by opening their mouth wider.

Domesticated Cats
The domestic cat's weight is 3.6 and 4.5kg. The height that they grow up to is 23 - 25cm that is smaller than a ruler.  Without the tail, their length is 46 cm.

Domestic cats must eat meat for their diet because they are carnivores. Most of the nutrients are found in the animals only, making a vegetarian diet impossible for the domestic cats and more kind of cats.
Lions
The male adult lions are about 1.2 meters. Adult Felines are 1.1 meters high. The weight of the male lions are 190 kg and the felions are 130kg in adults.

Lions hunt with the group they live in named prides. Then at night they go in a group and then stalk and prey until one of the lions is close enough to pounce. Lioness makeup most of the hunting groups and often trap prey with their strong jaws.

Nearly all wild lions live in sub-saharan africa. But the one small population of the asian lion they exist in india’s Gir forest. Asian and african lions are subspecies of the same species asian lions once prowled from the middle east to india.

Conclucion
Mainly lions are small cats. They have some similarities and different sort of things.
